How to Choose a Cable Reel for Deck Cranes and Workboats
Spring, hysteresis, torque motor or variable frequency? A practical selection guide for marine and mobile-equipment cable reels.

Start with the Duty Cycle
Cable length, drum size and reel drive follow from how the machine works: working radius, travel pattern, cable weight and duty hours. Wrong duty class is the top cause of premature reel failure.
Pick the Drive Principle
Spring reels for short runs and no power supply; hysteresis and torque motor reels for steady tension; variable frequency and hydro-viscous drives for long, heavy cables on cranes and TBMs.
Check the Cable Interface
Reel, slip ring and cable must match. Our group cable plant extrudes high-flex reel cables designed for millions of bending cycles - order the complete assembly from one factory.
Non-Standard Is Normal
With in-house molds, non-standard drum sizes and flanges ship in 15-25 working days standard, 30-45 for custom builds - no MOQ barriers.
